We were so sad to see our Night Sky unit come to an end. Still not sure who had more fun…..the kids or us! 🙂
Here are some highlights:
This light table was definitely worth the few minutes of assembly! All you need is a strand of Christmas lights in a storage bin, and some tissue paper lining the lid, and voila. We blocked out the sides with black paper too. Although our room was quite sunny, it worked well, and would work even better in a dark room!
PJ Night was a great success! Families were invited back to school at night for stories and songs in their PJs. The evening ended with the Tooty Ta. Such fun!
Two critical pieces for our Night Sky unit turned out to be an astronaut costume on clearance, and foil. The costume got a ton of use, and foil made everything much more “spacey.” This is our workbench in disguise!
And to round out our Night Sky fun, I made some Black Galaxy playdough. The jet black color required ALOT of black food coloring, but totally worth it. Add a few generous sprinkles of blue and gold glitter, and some tiny glitter stars and you are good to go!
What made the playdough even better was the space TOOB we had to go with it. The children really enjoyed creating different landscapes for the astronauts, spaceships, and satellites.
We are starting up our Healthy Me unit, where we are learning about our 5 Senses and taking care of our teeth.
Stay tuned for some seriously fun Kool-Aid playdough…it smell amazing!
